Summer Strings Music Camp
🎻 SUMMER STRINGS Will Return July 2026! 🎻
Founded in 2019 by music educator Mrs. Charlotte Van Ryswyk, Summer Strings was created to give young musicians a place to grow, connect, and be inspired through orchestral playing. What began as a small gathering of string students has grown into a vibrant, two-week summer program that draws players from across the community.
Now directed by Matthew Angel, Summer Strings offers an immersive orchestral experience for students of all ages and skill levels—from beginners just picking up their instruments to advanced players ready for a musical challenge. Over the course of the program, students receive focused instruction, rehearse in ensembles, develop their technical skills, and build confidence as performers.
We meet Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Claremont United Church of Christ, giving students a full day of music, learning, and collaboration in a supportive and inspiring environment. Our faculty includes Greg Adamson (cello coach), Fulong Huang (viola coach), and Mrs. Angel as our camp registrar—each an incredible part of the Summer Strings experience. The program concludes with a final concert where families and the community celebrate the students’ hard work and growth.
As we wrap up Summer Strings 2025, we want to thank all of our amazing parents and families for your support, energy, and encouragement. You make it possible for this program to thrive year after year.
Registration for our 2026 session will open in March 2026. If this sounds like a camp for you, we’d love to have you join us! Follow the link to learn more and register.
