A Violin/Viola Teacher and Performer, born and raised in East Los Angeles. For over a decade, in addition to his work as a string instrumentalist, the Maestro Matthew has worked building majority Chicano and Latino youth and community orchestras in underserved Los Angeles County communities. He has taught with various organizations, including Esperanza Azteca, Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA), and The Harmony Project Los Angeles, Boyle Heights, and now Long Beach.

He attended Los Angeles City College to further his music education, and is working towards a degree in music education. He studied under the private tutelage of violin/viola teachers Mickey Fruchter, and Tamsen Beseke of the LA Opera.

Matthew has been a teaching artist and manager of Programs in Los Angeles, Pasadena, San Gabriel, Yucaipa and Claremont. Teaching Artist of the Saturday Conservatory of Music in 2008-2018,Wildwood Music Camp Viola Coach, Orchestra Coordinator, Conductor and Teaching Artist of the Esperanza Azteca Youth Orchestra 2013-2016, Conductor and Strings Instructor of The Claremont USD Elementary Music Program 2017-present, Harmony Projects LA, Harmony Projects Long Beach and now is the Orchestral Coordinator of the Heart Of Los Angeles Eisner Intergenerational Orchestra (HOLAEIO)
